[ How Stern ever convinced him that traveling across the water in that box to accompany him to find a "bar" (a tool of some kind, he assumes) is beyond Yllit. Admittedly things had seemed much less painstaking before he discovered their destination to be beyond the vast body of water, requiring a ride in that cage--and this time he meant it. Much of his time within in had been spent fumbling around the interior, entirely disoriented and repeatedly asking how much time was left before their arrival.

At least it had had windows. And it was past nightfall--if it hadn't been Yllit shuddered to think of how horribly he might have further embarrassed himself, though anything more than what he currently felt seemed impossible. To be so obviously overcome with ineptitude in front of Qui'sol was...well, partially mortifying. Not because of a desire to appear impervious and hardened to whatever came his way, but to at least not have been so horribly debilitated.

But he's recovering from that now, finally, after sitting on the port and soaking himself in the moonlight while trying to catch his breath. His glowing hair and eyes garner obvious attention from the sailors at the docks, but he's kind of leering up at Stern right now 8| THOROUGHLY UNIMPRESSED. ]

That was...awful.

[ The entire trip was hilarious to Stern, he spent the entire time with a hand covering his mouth in an effort to muffle his laughter. He felt a little bad, just a little, but it was easily overpowered by how hilarious it was to watch Yllit fumble around the cable car as they crossed the ocean.

It sounds like he holds him in higher respect which is so rare for Qui'sol Yllit can't help but purse his lips into a thin line and...try to gain some semblance of appearance back here by wobbling after him. [ If you were to judge him by his posture, you could easily think Stern didn't care about the stares they are getting, but he does. He keeps an eye on them, a hand clasped around a knife in his pocket--one of many, he likes to keep himself armed--should one of them try to something funny. ]

It's not far. [ It's like he's trying to assure him that he won't have to put up with the stares for very long. ]

So we are near our destination? [ He...doesn't know if he feels gratitude or insult for Stern offering such consideration (he could handle himself quite fine should anything come to it--it was his role in his Forest after all. Simply because he was smaller and lighter was no reason to take extra care around him). Yllit chooses reluctant and guarded gratitude; Stern has yet to give him reason to think his actions demeaning. ]

Yeah, it's just down the road. [ It's habit on his part, he's so used to being attacked due to his past and ties. Yllit just happens to be someone he likes and thus someone he is willing to protect. ]

[ He scoffs in an attempt to hide his surprise. He's generally pretty good at this, able to lure a good number of idiots into a false sense of security. The little moon elf has damn good eyes. ]

[ He doesn't say anything for a moment, watching Lit out of the corner of his eyes as the elf's ears twitch. It's a nice thought, if anything. ]

Thanks. [ He doesn't relax, however, his guard tightens up a little more out of pure habit instead. ]
